EXAMPLES OF MDB-FINANCED CONSULTING REQUIREMENTS

The following are indicative examples of consulting requirements announced in 2005 to be financed by the multilateral development banks:

· Advise and implement the restructuring of ADMARC with a view to improving its efficiency and effectiveness

· Advisory services to develop implementation plans for four components, which include the establishment of a bulk clearing system, card processing center for the national banks-shared card system, real time gross settlement system, and
general ledger of the National Bank

· Analyze in detail the local building construction industry in the four provinces covered by the project

· Preparation, application and testing in pilot interurban road corridors and city areas, and dissemination, of modern work methods, procedures, technical guides, information technologies, management systems, organizational structures, and regulations; and preparation and execution of training programs, to develop the capability of all agencies involved in road safety in the IRI and support the implementation of the National Road Safety Action Plan

· Provide general school senior students with access to quality education, with opportunities to study general education disciplines chosen by them at the in-depth level with the use of the Internet

· Refine and further improve safe road design manual, by (i) testing the existing manual and incorporating new information that will arise from the proposed Safe Road Design workshop; and (ii) incorporating additional specific comment on the manual to be provided by the World Bank

· Research and establish costs involved of meeting new maritime transport security requirements: objectives will be to compile a listing of the different measures made mandatory by the conventions, and to establish a range of cost assessments

· Services for the Environmental Impact Assessment, including overview the national environment policy, legislation and directives relevant to comprehensive ROAD 3 program, and integration within the overall road sector strategy

· Services related to the rehabilitation of Government secondary schools - in the fields of rehabilitation needs, related technical surveys of selected parts of existing school facilities, preparation of bidding documents for rehabilitation works, and subsequent management and site supervision of these works.
