MDB PUBLIC

INVESTMENT LENDING

MDB public investment lending is for actual projects, as opposed to loans or credits for policy purposes, private investment projects, lines of credit, emergency and other non-investment, and non-project loans. It is these public investment projects that finance consulting assignments, goods and equipment and works. Nearly every MDB project will include these: For the profile of these contract categories on World Bank projects, click here. To return to this page, click your browser's back button.

In fiscal 2006, the share of public investment lending in the total commitments by the five MDBs was 65.4 percent - it totaled $31.3 billion.

In FY 2006, the World Bank accounted for 52 percent of MDB public investment lending - see the next page for details.

Figures in the charts are for total investment loan and credit project approvals by the MDBs. Sources for the figures are annual reports and other MDB data.
