EUROPEAN BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT (EBRD) The EBRD, established in 1991 to "foster transition" in Eastern Europe, operates in 29 countries and has 61 members plus the EU and EIB. The US has a10% share; France, Italy, Germany, UK, and Japan have 8.5% each. Mongolia and Montenegro became new countries of operations in 2006. The EBRD's commitments in FY 2009 were equivalent to $11.32 billion. Most (80%) of its lending is for the private sector. The EBRD has three country and three business groups and is located in London, England. Its fiscal year (FY) is the calendar year. For EBRD sector lending, click here.
